01 · Problem

The university needed a functional robotics lab with staff capable of running SLAM, navigation, and manipulation applications independently.

02 · My Role
  • Selected and designed the lab's robots.
  • Split the tasks across the team to bring the robots up and deliver the tender's parts through to handover.
  • Trained the academic staff on the robots.
03 · Solution
  • A complete robotics lab for the American University of Madaba, ready for SLAM, navigation and manipulation.
  • Robots selected, brought up and handed over with staff training, so the faculty can run experiments with students.

05 · Results

A fully functional robotics lab with trained academic staff capable of independently running SLAM, navigation, and manipulation experiments with their students.

06 · Challenges

Academic staff came from diverse backgrounds — some had no prior ROS experience. The training needed to bridge from fundamentals to advanced autonomy topics. Lab hardware setup required careful calibration of sensors and robot configurations for reliable SLAM and navigation.
